The internet allows the user to be in touch with anyone, anywhere in the world, whatever the time of day.  The internets success is global, and the use of the internet is worldwide.  Most large organisations give staff members their own unique password and security code, to enable them to search on the internet, and accept internal and external mail.  The use of the internet however, stretches far beyond the work place and is a common feature in most homes and schools.  The age of the computer and internet is now, and children on a daily basis are being taught the basics of computers.

Many individuals take part in blogs and communities, which is all part of social networking.  Facebook is one such community, where people can find friends from the past, and keep in touch, find out what they are doing, and sometimes even form reunions socially.  Pictures can be downloaded to an individuals account, and there is a wall where friends can write comments, and attach pictures.

Blogs are very popular, and are also useful for finding out information.  First time mums can log onto various online communities, and find out about other peoples children.  These communities can also help with any small problems they may have, and in some cases the internet is an outlet which can help through good and bad times.  Other people set up their own personal websites, which have information on such as photo’s and updates of what the family has been up to.

Blogs and communities aren’t just on one subject, and array of different subjects can be found on the web, if you have a parking fine from a particular company, chances are that there is a blog somewhere on the web about this company.  If you are having trouble sleeping, suffering from headaches or have a medical condition and want to get in touch with someone suffering from the same plight, then somewhere on the internet their will be a blog written and an online community who can offer advise or a sympathetic ear.

Blogs have also been used to try to keep people updated on sad events which have been in the news, it sometimes helps keep certain news fresh in peoples minds for if there is any progression on a certain news article.
